Se nourrir signifie, se sustenter, se servir d'aliments propres à nourrir l’être humain. En l'occurrence satisfaire un besoin vital. Mais l'évolution de l'agriculture, de l'élevage, de l'industrie agro-alimentaire a créé de nouvelles habitudes alimentaires, de nouveaux goûts et beaucoup de problèmes.
Puisque nous devons nous nourrir, à quoi fait référence le « bien » dans cette question ? Est-ce à la quantité (pas assez, trop), à la qualité (équilibré, en rapport à nos besoins physiques, sans résidus toxiques, Agriculture Biologique), au contexte (lieu, position, temps pour se nourrir, conscience, partage), à l'éthique, l’impact environnemental (bio, déchets, origine des produits, mode de fabrication). Le conseil d’ Hippocrate était « Laisse ta nourriture être ton remède et ton remède ta nourriture. »
L'animal sauvage a un instinct : il choisit les aliments qui sont bons pour lui. L'humain peut se rendre malade en mangeant. Le souci d’une bonne santé renvoie à la question d'une bonne alimentation.Avec la situation écologique, le prix de aliments de base va augmenter, créant ainsi un accès déséquilibré à la nourriture. Alors comment l'humanité se nourrira t-elle ?
